Ameesha Patel has been decorating the headlines ever since she dropped a video with Pakistani actor Imran Abbas. Soon the video went viral and their dating rumours have been doing rounds on the internet. However, in a recent interview, she shut down the baseless rumours and mentioned that they are just good friends.
In a recent interaction with Hindustan Times, Ameesha Patel was quoted saying, “I read them too, and had a huge laugh about it. The whole thing is just crazy and full of silliness. I was meeting my buddy after so many years. So, it was just a catch-up.”
The Gadar: Ek Prem Katha actress told that she and Imran have known each other for years now since the time they studied together at a university in the US. She asserted, “I have stayed in touch with most of my friends in Pakistan, who just love India. Abbas belongs to the film industry there, and we have a lot more to talk about.”
The ‘Humraaz’ actress also spoke about the video and said, “We met at the event and decided to catch up later, that’s when the video just happened organically. He happens to love that song of mine. It’s his favourite song. We just did an impromptu thing, which was recorded by a friend. It came out so cute, so we posted it. It was not planned.”
The video featured Patel and Abbas grooving to the actress’ song Dil Mein Dard Sa Jaga Hai from the 2002 movie Kranti.
For the unversed, the duo met at the event in Bahrain and recorded the video, which the actress later shared on her Instagram handle.
On the work front, the 46-year-old actress will be seen in Gadar 2 featuring Sunny Deol and Utkarsh Sharma.
